Our client is a major NSW government department delivering essential civil and infrastructure works across regional NSW. They are responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering a diverse pipeline of road, maintenance and minor works projects that support community safety, asset performance and regional growth.
With increased activity scheduled for 2026, they are seeking multiple Project Engineers to join their delivery teams in the Dubbo region.
Role description
This is an excellent opportunity for civil-focused Project Engineers who enjoy project coordination, technical support, contractor engagement and on-the-ground involvement in infrastructure delivery.
You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, working closely with engineering, construction and stakeholder groups to support the smooth planning and execution of road, civil and minor works projects.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Support the planning, investigation and design phases of civil and road-related projects
* Coordinate technical documentation, drawings, specifications and project readiness
* Assist with contractor engagement and contract administration throughout delivery
* Contribute to cost control, forecasting, reporting and project performance tracking
* Prepare project documents, progress reports, schedules and compliance records
* Maintain strong relationships with internal technical teams and external delivery partners
* Oversee WHS, environmental and quality standards across active works
* Work within a structured project delivery environment to meet time, cost, scope and quality expectations
Skills & Experience
* Degree or qualification in Civil Engineering (Environmental or related disciplines also considered)
* 3–5+ years' experience in civil, road, maintenance or infrastructure delivery
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with contractors and internal teams
* Solid understanding of WHS, environmental and quality obligations in engineering environments
* Ability to remain calm, organised and adaptable within a fast-moving delivery program
Highly Regarded:
* Experience with road maintenance, minor works, or regional infrastructure programs
* Contract administration or project coordination experience
* Class C driver's licence and White Card (mandatory for some workstreams)
