Job Overview

The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll processes for monthly payrolls of all local employees.

This includes payroll administration, time records, and employee benefits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Calculate monthly payroll adjustments, employee leave entitlements, parental leave payments, superannuation, redundancies, and terminations for BPO payroll review.
2. Liaise with the payroll outsource provider and BPO team to ensure a smooth and accurate payroll process by deadline.
3. Maintain payroll records, handle employee inquiries, provide support, and guidance to employees on HR or payroll matters/processes.
4. Manage award interpretation and oversee fortnightly payrolls (150-220 employees) to ensure data accuracy.
5. Analyse, reconcile, and prepare End of Month reporting for Finance.
6. Support Finance with FBT - Fringe Benefit Tax and any payroll-related queries.
7. Manage Novated Lease, company parking, and American Express corporate card accounts.
8. Review, reconcile, and finalise end-of-year reporting with payroll outsource providers.
9. Ensure data accuracy in HRIS systems maintained.
10. Provide payroll data to auditors for annual internal and external audit reviews.
11. Prepare and submit WGEA - Workplace Gender Equality Agency and salary survey reports.
12. Prepare and submit to the ATO - Australian Taxation Office, Employee Share Scheme Reporting (ESS) yearly basis.
13. In conjunction with HR, manage annual Salary Review process and local bonus process with guidance from Global team.
14. Manage yearly workers' compensation wages declarations and premium payments.
15. Manage Group Life and Salary Continuation Insurance policies.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in similar capacity.

End-to-end payroll experience with knowledge of payroll legislation.

Similar experience in stand-alone and hands-on position able to manage payroll outsource provider and BPO team.

Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to set priorities and manage competing demands.

Great attention to detail, strong numerical skills, strong analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Competent Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

High level interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including our payroll outsource provider and BPO team.

Proactive and positive approach to work and tasks.

Ability to work under pressure and tenacity in managing change and complexity.

Strong communication skills.

Ensure all activities comply with policies and legal and ethical standards, including WHS, EEO, and anti-discrimination legislation and principles.
