POSITION: Registered Nurse – New Graduate Program
HOURS: Full time – 38 hours per week
on a rotating roster – Fixed term 12 months
OPERATIONAL BASE: Karitane -Early Parenting service – located on Campbelltown Hospital Site

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: (Each criteria below must be addressed in your cover letter)
* Eligibility for Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA by February 2023
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* An understanding of and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
* An understanding of risk management, safety and quality improvement principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
* Demonstrated awareness of multicultural issues
* Demonstrate a keen interest in the specialty of Child and Family Health
* Dedication and commitment to further learning and a willingness to participate in professional supervision and reflective practice
* Computer skills
Summary Role And Function
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to begin your career in Child and Family Health. Successful applicants will be offered support and guidance as they transition to child and family health and gain experience in this specialty.
The incumbent will be offered recognition of prior Learning (RPL) for the Master of Child and Family Health-Western Sydney University on successful completion of the New Graduate Program which includes successfully completing the Infant Feeding and Nutrition Unit and Growth and Development. Completing these study modules is a requirement of the Karitane New Graduate Program with the support of a dedicated Nurse Educator.
Karitane staff provide safe, effective, quality care consistent with the organisation's mission, philosophy, values and standards of care, and adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct.
Professional practice must reflect adherence to agreed professional standards. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of clinical services to the clients, performs within the policies and procedures of Karitane.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Fixed Term 12-month Full time employment status in accordance with the Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Nurses Agreement 2017. Shift times and days are as per a 24-hour rotating roster Monday to Friday and may be varied according to the needs of the organisation. Karitane services are provided at a number of sites within the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
The majority of Karitane's services close for approximately two weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, during which time employees are required to take leave.
Karitane supports a smoke free environment including grounds, buildings and vehicles.

Relevant Police Check, Working with Children Check, Apprehended Violence Orders and prior employment checks, including relevant disciplinary proceedings, will be conducted on recommended applicant.
