An experienced
Senior Cost Engineer
is required to support complex projects within the
Oil and Gas sector
, working closely with project teams to ensure effective cost management and control.
Key Responsibilities:
* Turn cost data into actionable insights for decision-makers
* Enhance cost control tools, processes, and reporting frameworks
* Support and mentor junior team members
* Collaborate with project and budget managers to track spending and forecasts
* Produce accurate, timely cost reports and variance analyses
* Evaluate subcontractor/vendor claims and assist with change control
* Monitor risks, identify potential issues, and support mitigation strategies
* Contribute to cost database development and continuous process improvement
Requirements:
* Proven experience in cost engineering within the oil and gas or related heavy industries
* Strong background in cost control, forecasting, and budget management
* Capable of developing project estimates and managing cost baselines
* Skilled in variance analysis (costs, hours, productivity, etc.)
* Understanding of WBS structures and project lifecycle requirements
* A qualification in quantity surveying or a related field is an advantage
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
