Role details
The Peer Workforce Team at the Mackay Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Peer Worker to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your prospect
Utilise a lived experience of mental health issues, substance use and recovery to assist clients to work towards achieving their best outcomes and to support those providing clinical care to develop a better understanding of recovery-oriented care and the additional benefits that peer support can provide.
Provide efficient, effective, ethical and confidential person centred, nonclinical peer support within the Mackay Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Division, across both community and inpatient settings.
Work under direction to facilitate the delivery of peer support for clients of the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs service.

About the Team
The Workforce Partnerships and Career development Team comprises of a diverse staffing group, including the Peer Workforce, who provide division wide services and programs, to internal and external stakeholders. Programs impact on state and health service deliverables and the portfolio is responsible for ensuring the divisions clinical services comply to relevant legislation through key positions.
