Supervisor Sonographer – Paediatric Statewide Service
Salary: HSO Level P4 $148,216 - $153,151 per annum (plus 12 % superannuation).
Location: Perth Children's Hospital, Nedlands.

About the Role
Perth Children's Hospital & Neonatology (PCHN) is seeking an experienced Supervisor Sonographer to join our Medical Imaging Department and lead our ultrasound service.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide operational leadership and coordination of ultrasound services across five rooms and portable services (wards, NICU, PICU, theatres, research environments).
* Support a high‐performing team to deliver safe, high‐quality, and efficient diagnostic imaging services.
* Collaborate with radiologists, Tutor Sonographers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure imaging is appropriate and supports clinical decision‐making.
* Oversee workflows, waitlists, and service delivery to maintain high‐quality imaging, patient safety and compliance with standards.
* Perform specialised paediatric ultrasound procedures and provide clinical expertise.
* Provide leadership and supervision to sonographers, supporting staff performance, professional development and rostering.
* Work with Tutor Sonographers to support training and supervision of trainee sonographers.
* Contribute to research, innovation and continuous quality improvement, including service improvement initiatives, workflow optimisation and adoption of emerging technologies.
* Maintain accurate examination records in accordance with statutory and departmental requirements.
What We Are Looking For
Essential: Paediatric ultrasound experience, advanced technical skill, strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and ability to engage children, families and multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable: Experience supervising medical personnel or ultrasound trainees.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a relevant health/science field, an ASAR‐accredited qualification in sonography and current registration with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) as an accredited medical sonographer.
The role is full‐time permanent; a part‐time (0.8 FTE) arrangement can be considered for the right applicant.
Working Hours
Standard days – hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday with participation in a Sunday roster.
