Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Special Needs Education Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic school environment with a diverse student population, supporting students with challenging behaviors and providing education plans, assessing progress, and communicating outcomes to the classroom teacher.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrate initiative, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
* Experience supporting students with challenging behaviors is highly regarded, particularly familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and other related programs.
* Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively with teachers, parents/carers, admin staff, and external agencies.
* Able to assist with toileting and work with toileting plans in partnership with staff and families.
* An understanding of a range of disabilities, including autism and severe mental health conditions.
* Ability to work independently to assist with classroom routines, prepare resources, and support student learning.
