The Company
LumaCina Australia Pty Ltd is a lean, asset-light, pharmaceutical company with a portfolio of established sterile injectable products that have been available in ANZ for over 40 years. The business is owned by an American private equity business, Bridgewest Group. Bridgewest has global interests in innovative software, semiconductors, AI and life‐saving therapeutics. Bridgewest has a significant investment in the health sciences sector in Asia and Australia/New Zea. This has been driven through the acquisition of pharmaceutical plants and commercial products. The business has recently been set up as a separate legal entity on January 1 2026, and is now primed for significant growth both in its primary market base of Australia/NZ and through global expansion.
The Role
As CEO, reporting to the Chair and the Board, your mandate will be to:
* Continue the strong growth in the home markets of ANZ; including the building of customer facing capabilities
* Expand the business globally, primarily via an out‐licensing strategy for the existing portfolio
* Build and execute a disciplined business development strategy focused on product opportunities that fit our manufacturing partnership model
* Identify and acquire/in‐license products that align with partner manufacturing capabilities, thinking manufacturing‐plant‐first in product selection
* Build a lean, high‐performing team from the ground up—you'll be hiring and developing your own leadership bench
* Provide strategic direction to the Board while maintaining hands‐on involvement in execution
* Manage manufacturing partnerships effectively to ensure quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness
What we need from you
* At least 10 to 15 years commercial (e.g., generics and biosimilars) pharma experience including preferably in the off‐patent medicines sector (generics and biosimilars) and experience leading an organisation that has required significant change management to drive fundamental change in the business.
* Experience of sales to international markets. This will require strong networking and partnering skills and international travel.
* Experience leading growth of generics pharma company from 20‐50 M revenue to 5‐10×.
* Proven value creation with portfolio of hospital essentials product basket
* Experience with out‐licensing, in‐licensing, and strategic partnerships
* Strategic thinker who can also roll up sleeves and execute
* Entrepreneur with emerging company/start‐up experience an advantage; capital‐efficient mindset: you make every dollar count and find creative solutions to resource constraints
