The Role
The HSE Advisor is responsible for implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and compliance requirements on-site. The role ensures that all personnel adhere to relevant regulations and company HSE standards to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
The anticipated roster is a 2:2 roster, working on average 84 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
Conduct risk assessments, safety observations, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
Monitor permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements.
Support audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Promote a proactive safety culture and mentor personnel on best practices.
Manage incident reporting, corrective actions, and return-to-work programs.
Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare reports for stakeholders.
Support emergency response planning and continuous safety improvements.
Other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety – required minimum qualification.
ICAM or TAPROOT Investigator – highly regarded, but not essential.
Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
Driver's Licence.
Skills and Experience
At least 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably working within the O&G, Mining or construction industry.
Experience in a site based HSE role within a high-risk environment.
Experience with Rope Access, Rigging, Painting & Blasting is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of relevant standards.
Strong communication, interpersonal skills and leadership skills.
Ability to engage with relevant stakeholders, from workers to senior leadership.
