The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, together with your professional approach and strong organisational skills, our client is looking for a Senior Taxation Associate to work on a wide variety of matters including all Taxation disputes in conjunction with another very Senior Associate. This division is expanding
In order to be considered for this role, the following will be required:
* Managing from tax disputes end to end, inclduing audits, ATO negotiations and court appeals
* Work with Corporates & Individuals with complex matters, taxation issues, CGT, superannuation, and related commercial documentation
* Drafting and advising on estate planning, trusts deeds, superannuation, international tax, CGT
* Mentor and support graduate lawyers in their career growth
* Serving as main point of contact keeping clients and relevant parties well informed.
* Engage in negotiations on behalf of clients and manage client expectations.
* Participate in mediations and counsel conferences
* Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and ensure a cohesive team environment
* Establishing long-term, trusting relationships & rapport with customers
* Attend networking events and provide information sessions for community and professional groups from time to time
* Other duties as required
About You
You will be a forward thinking and self motivated individual who is committed to assisting clients and the team to reach their full potential.
In order for you to be considered for this position, you will require the following:
* Relevant Australian recognised law degree with an admission to practice law in South Australia with a current unrestricted practicing certificate
* Masters of Taxation would be highly desirable
* 5+ years post-admission experience
* Commercial mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Prioritisation, organisation & time management skills to meet objectives
* Problem-solving skills
* Strong advocacy and negotiation skills with high levels of discretion and ethical judgement
* Ability to adhere to policies, procedures & protocols while still being flexible and empathising with customer solutions.
