Continental Delicatessen is looking for a talented and motivated Chef to join our team. 
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
Team Support & Development 
Assist in maintaining a positive and cooperative kitchen environment, ensuring high morale among team members. 
Support the training of apprentices and kitchen staff in techniques and recipes as directed by senior chefs. 
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently upheld across all sections of the kitchen. 
Product Quality & Consistency 
Prepare and present dishes in line with established recipes and presentation standards. 
Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation. 
Ensure recipe accuracy and consistent execution across all kitchen sections. 
Familiarize yourself with dietary requirements and substitutions to meet customer needs. 
Demonstrate techniques and advise on cooking procedures. 
Stock Control & Operational Efficiency 
Support stock management, ordering, and rotation (FIFO) to maintain freshness and minimize waste. 
Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and order food supplies. 
Assist with preparation lists and ensure all sections are ready for service. 
Collaborate to maintain cost-efficient practices and monitor food margins in line with financial targets. 
Leadership Development 
Lead by example, fostering professionalism and high standards within the team. 
Supervise junior staff during shifts, ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. 
Discuss food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff. 
Select and train staff as needed.
