Management Accountant – Cost & Manufacturing | Mt Thorley
A well-established and innovative engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Mt Thorley is seeking a hands-on Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment with a broad variety of responsibilities.
You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial and management reporting while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to drive provide insight into cost drivers, product profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cost accounting and variance analysis, including inventory management and product profitability reviews.
- Partner with operations to improve cost visibility, product pricing strategies, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Work closely with operational teams to enhance understanding of financial performance, cost drivers, and pricing strategies.
- Prepare timely and accurate month-end financial and management reports.
- Complete account reconciliations and support the delivery of the monthly reporting pack.
- Oversee compliance with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations.
Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will see you engage confidently with all levels of the business. In addition, you will bring:
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and CA or CPA qualification (or working towards)
- Proven experience in cost accounting principles, inventory processes and variance analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (implementation or use) and Advanced MS Office suite
- A continuous improvement mindset and a hands-on, proactive approach.
