About the role
As Plumbing Inspector, you will be part of the Plumbing Team and responsible for ensuring that plumbing, drainage, and on-site sewerage functions within Ipswich satisfy the requirements of the governing legislation. You will contribute to the overall performance of the Plumbing Team through the application of professional service, expertise and experience in an ethical, friendly and dignified manner.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Determine development applications for Plumbing and Drainage matters whilst demonstrating transparency, integrity and sound judgement
* Negotiate with applicants, residents, plumbers, builders, and developers to encourage compliance and the timely resolution of matters
* Prepare and deliver clear and consistent advice to internal and external stakeholders, State and Federal Government Departments any other Statutory Authorities as necessary with regards to program functions
* Provide timely correspondence to stakeholders, including writing of technical reports or necessary statutory notices
* Undertake site inspections, compliance inspections and audits for onsite sewerage facilities and conduct audits of onsite sewerage facilities and owners scheduled maintenance programs
* Communicate complex concepts to help customers understand requirements and build collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A Queensland plumbers and drainers licence
* Licence endorsements which could include backflow prevention, thermostatic mixing valves, solar heat pump, onsite sewerage facility maintenance
* Specialist skills and experience in plumbing and drainage installations or assessment or hold a QBCC license as a hydraulic designer which requires qualifications equivalent to Diploma of Engineering (Construction Hydraulics) with significant experience
* Current Queensland C class driver’s licence

This is permanent full-time position with a salary between $102,718 and $107,150 (dependant on skills and experience) plus 12.5% superannuation.
