As part of our Ecospec business, the Operations Manager is responsible for the daily leadership and management of operations.
You will oversee the day-to-day activities within the business, including accountability for all elements of operational success - from winning work to project delivery.
This role will provide direct support for our project teams in key areas such as leadership, safety, commercial, financial compliance and technical areas.
The Operations Manager will be an active participant in developing and converting the growth strategies, particularly in new sectors, states, capabilities and new clients.
Key Responsibilities
Identify areas for improvement in experience and competencies with the engineering and management teams and develop programs with individuals to address those gaps.
Identify skills gaps within the site workforce.
Help with the development of training programs and safe work instructions to ensure all team members are up to required standard.
Support the General Manager in the search for new opportunities to grow the Ecospec and business, particularly in areas outside of South Australia (eg. QLD, NSW, VIC).
Monitor the three financial instruments of Ecospec including profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet.
Coordinate and plan resources across the business including identifying long-term shortfalls.
This includes the recruitment of staff and workforce needs.
Assist in the periodic audit and maintenance of accreditation and pre-qualifications.
Ensure all projects start with a clear budget and that the project manager assumes responsibility for the budget.
Ensure all works are performed under the appropriate contract or agreement (including subcontractors and suppliers).
About You
Demonstrated capacity in Leading and managing a team, both at an operational and professional development level.
Extensive experience in program management and delivery.
Demonstrated ability to strategically plan initiatives to meet specified outcomes and timeframes.
Ability to set targets for a team to achieve mutual outcomes.
Ability to generate, drive and influence people to implement change.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with varied stakeholders.
Demonstrate experience in budget and financial management.
Client-focused with a solutions mindset.
Ability to personally contribute to fill any capability or capacity shortfalls.
Previous experience in remediation, particularly in concrete infrastructure would be advantageous, but not essential.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Business preferred.
The successful candidate will be subject to the satisfactory completion of pre-employment medical with drug and alcohol screening.
