About the Role
As the Production Manager for our F&T plant in Wacol QLD, you will be responsible for the ongoing night operations for the manufacturing of Timber Frames, Floors and Roof Trusses. With the new F&T plant open since early 2024 and the night shift running from 2:30pm to 10:30pm, you will oversee recruitment, training and development of your team and implement procedures as the plant expands.
Responsibilities
* Recruit, train and develop a team of 20‐35 staff across yard supervisors, automation specialists, production team and forklift drivers.
* Implement new equipment and machinery and lead continuous improvement of processes.
* Monitor and measure customer service levels and liaise with Commercial Sales and key stakeholders to educate them on manufacturing capabilities and product offerings.
* Manage the plant P&L, stock levels and financial performance while balancing customer expectations.
* Raise safety awareness and identify and correct unsafe situations.
* Develop local strategies and business plans to support the national F&T growth.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of Frame & Truss, construction or manufacturing.
* Demonstrated experience leading large teams with a focus on health and safety and manufacturing efficiency.
* Ability to develop large teams and influence multiple stakeholders.
* Solid understanding of P&L reporting, KPIs (margin, timelines, sales) and exceeding client expectations.
* Capability to wear many hats and adapt to fast‐moving environments.
