In recent years the information technology platforms of the Bureau have continued to evolve at a rapid rate to better suit changing organisational demands. The success and consumption of, and demand for, public cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure has grown and continues to increase. The Bureau is setting up a dedicated capability within the Infrastructure Services section to govern and manage these current and emerging cloud platforms at a high level.
An experienced and suitably qualified Cloud platform team lead is sought with a track record of managing and coaching staff and expertise relevant to high level management of Cloud Platforms. The lead will work closely with the Infrastructure Services Manager to realise this capability by building a recent Cloud Enablement team and coaching it to success to provide this critical operational capability for the Bureau ongoing.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bring with you and contribute relevant experience and expertise in managing Cloud Platforms at a high level, especially with multi‐account/tenant environments with chargeback capability;
* Have a valuable understanding of cloud finance principles ('FinOps'), and how to keep cloud consumption sustainable;
* Have an awareness of the trade‐offs involved with using a cloud platform relative to a traditional on‐premises platform, and how those trade‐offs can be balanced to the organisation's advantage;
* Recognise the potential for skill and talent in staff, and have the ability to recruit, coach and enable staff and manage underperformance;
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Value teamwork and diversity, show interest in and support your peers, and value professional collaboration;
* Have a knowledge of and demonstrate commitment to the APS Values, APS Code of Conduct, and the Bureau's Social Justice Strategy.
