Located 472 km north‐west of Adelaide, Carrapateena is part of our Minerals Australia operations within the Copper South Australia province. The mine is on traditional land of the Kokatha people.
About the Role
Reporting to the Underground fixed plant maintenance superintendent, the Material Handling System Supervisor (MHS) ensures that operational tasks for the MHS system are carried out safely and effectively to support production targets.
A typical day
Starting with a pre‐shift meeting, you'll deploy your team, perform field leadership activities, handle administration, review completed jobs, and ensure smooth handovers between day and night crews.
In this role you will:
* Integrate with maintenance counterparts to plan proactive maintenance and minimise unplanned downtime
* Be responsible for plant operators within the material handling system
* Ensure daily operational tasks are completed and prioritised to meet operational requirements
* Oversee conveyor belt operation, identify issues, and escalate to the maintenance team in a timely manner
* Review work practices to ensure best practice
* Work with the training department to ensure teams have suitable skills and progression plans
* Maintain high housekeeping standards for all equipment
ABOUT YOU
* Organised, motivated, and proven in delivering high housekeeping standards
* Talented in driving safety and performance initiatives aligned with BOS Practices
* Outstanding planning and organisational skills, able to execute urgent and planned tasks without prompting
* Capable of managing pressure and prioritising people and workload during 12‐hour shifts
* Effective communicator across multiple levels and disciplines
* Experience in heavy industry or warehouse environments where organisation skills were critical
* Committed to building and developing team capability through coaching
* Experience with SAP is an advantage
* Conveyor experience is a strong advantage
* Experience driving a manual vehicle is desirable
* Trade qualifications relevant to the role are advantageous
* Supervisory experience is advantageous
