We are looking for an outstanding educational leader committed to an Anglican expression of inclusive education to join us.

Based in Taree NSW, Manning Valley Anglican College is one of four schools forming part of Newcastle Anglican.

Overview

Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the Head of Junior School is a key member of Senior Leadership team.

The role is primarily responsible for:

* Fostering school-wide cohesion and building aspirational, high-performing and inclusive teams
* Leading with visibility, integrity and emotional intelligence, communicating with confidence, empathy and clarity
* Driving to embed contemporary wellbeing and positive education frameworks
* Shaping, monitoring and improving administrative and operational processes, procedures and protocols

Essential Criteria:

* Relevant teaching qualifications and current accreditation with NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority), with a clear understanding of curriculum, assessment, and pedagogical practice in the K–6 context.
* Postgraduate qualifications in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field, demonstrating commitment to ongoing professional learning and educational excellence.
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a primary or whole-school setting, with demonstrated success in leading teams and building a positive, collaborative culture.
* Demonstrated expertise in leading and embedding a whole-school learning framework, ideally with experience in Learning Powered Approaches or similar dispositions-based learning models.
* A strong track record of improving student outcomes, including academic achievement, student engagement, and wellbeing, supported by data-informed decision-making.
* A high standard of professional competence and innovation in classroom teaching, with the ability to coach and develop teaching teams to ensure consistency, excellence, and growth across the Junior School.
* Highly proficient digital literacy skills, with the ability to lead digital integration in curriculum and operations.
* A clear alignment with the Anglican ethos and values of the College, and a willingness to actively contribute to the spiritual and community life of the school.
* The successful applicant will possess NSW Working with Children Check and be willing to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
