**** GM3 Mechanical (Fitting & Machining) Apprenticeships
You will complete Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and our host employer, GM3.
GM3 is an emerging Australian metallurgical coal mining entity owned by global investment entity Golden Energy and Resources (GEAR) and M Resources, a market leader in metallurgical coal industry services.
Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to work on the following:
General underground duties, mechanical inspections, operation of machinery, function testing, fault finding
Test for, locate and repair mechanical faults
Maintain existing mining equipment
Mechanical inspections and repairs to underground mining machinery including RTV's, gas drainage drill rigs, continuous miner, shuttle car, feeder, longwall, pumps, coal clearance conveyors and surface winders
What you'll bring to the table...
To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:
Ability to commence in January ****
Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
Commitment to full term of the apprenticeship and study requirements
Willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
Demonstrated interest/passion in the trade
Mandatory Requirements
Drivers licence and reliable transport
NSW National Police Check
Willingness to undergo Coal Board Order 43 Medical as pre-employment requirement
Workers in roles with a risk for exposure to hepatitis A and B will be required to demonstrate existing immunity, participate in an immunisation schedule to obtain immunity or sign an exemption. Workers will be required to undergo testing every 10 years to ensure immunity remains intact. Roles which have been identified to have an exposure, include: a) Plumbers b) Cleaners c) Workers designated to provide any first aid treatment d) Mines Rescue Team members e) Environmental specialists/advisors responsible for water sampling f) Out-by workers maintaining any toilets, untreated water, waste water treatment plants or sewerage systems. g) Any other workers involved in maintenance or inspection of water filtration systems, water treatment and sewerage treatment (e.g. Surface Coordinators, UG Mechanical Technicians etc)
