Who You Are: You are a hands-on technician with a solid understanding of legacy FTTN infrastructure and a strong track record of compliance and leadership in field-based operations. You're confident, safety-conscious, and tech-savvy. As the role requires manual handling and outdoor fieldwork, you will need to be physically fit and willing to travel as required within the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast region.
Role Purpose: WV Technologies is seeking experienced Copper Technicians to support legacy network infrastructure projects. This leadership-oriented field role involves working across large-scale underground telecommunications networks, focusing on scoping, identification, and compliance activities.
Success in this role you will see
• Safe and efficient recovery of copper cables while ensuring minimal disruption to the Telstra and NBN networks
• Scoping and identifying legacy telecommunications infrastructure in the field
• Identifying pair ranges using appropriate tools and network documentation
• Interpreting and working from telco network plans and schematics
• Recording accurate job data via iPad or other digital field reporting systems
• Supporting the safe and efficient achievement of daily work targets
• Leading or supporting a small onsite crew
• Monitor productivity, quality of work, and report performance to Field Supervisor
Skills
• Demonstrated experience in legacy telecommunications network work
• Proficiency in identifying pair ranges and interpreting copper pair maps
• Familiarity with cable jointing or fault-finding processes
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to safety
• Ability to work independently and in a leadership role within a field environment
• Competent with using iPads and digital work platforms
Qualifications
• Full Work Rights in Australia
• Current and unrestricted Australia's Driver License
• Current and valid FTTN accreditations
• White Card
• ACM accreditations and ability to follow asbestos management protocols
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Pre-employment medical (may be required)
