THAI SHOP IS AN A LA CARTE AND TAKEAWAY ASIAN FOOD OUTLET KNOWN FOR AUTHENTIC THAI FLAVOURS, FRESH INGREDIENTS AND EFFICIENT SERVICE LOCATED INSIDE THE NIGHT MARKETS FOOD COURT IN CAIRNS.
POSITION- COOK
We are looking for a highly experienced Cook to join our team. The expected start date of this position will be as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
· Participates in the preparation, cooking and presentation of food for the outlet, unsupervised.
· Prepares the required quantities of food for the outlet as per the instructions given.
· Prepares and serves all food according to THAI SHOP standards and procedures.
· Ensures that all Kitchen equipment is in good working order.
· Ensures that all Kitchen utensils are handled and used with care.
· Informs the Manager or Director of the Company on repair and maintenance needs.
· Maintains the kitchen and other related areas with the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
· Ensures the proper rotation and utilisation of all food items in the kitchen and store room.
· Assists in controlling the food cost by minimising spoilage and wastage.
· Ensures portion control and all recipes are followed as per specific requirements.
· Attends training programs and or meetings as requested.
· Performs any other duties as requested by the manager or director.
The Must-Have Requirements:
· Have a qualification of at least Certificate IV in Kitchen Management
· At least 1 year of working experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen
· Good knowledge in food preparation and handling.
· Customer service
· Understand occupational health and safety workplace practices
· Knife handling skills
· Have a First Aid and Food Safety Certificate
Expected Salary:
The successful candidate will receive a gross annual salary between AUD $69,000 to AUD $73,000 depending on the skills and experience.
