Step into a pivotal leadership role at Australia's largest alpine resort, Perisher or at Australia's Powder capital, Hotham. As the Manager Retail & Rental at Perisher or Hotham, you will champion the performance and growth of our Retail and Rental business units, driving operational excellence, enhancing profitability, and ensuring our guests enjoy an unforgettable on‑mountain experience.
This is a hands‑on, people‑focused position that blends strategic direction with daily operational leadership across inventory, staff, guest service, administration, and compliance.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading day‑to‑day Retail & Rental operations to deliver exceptional guest service, strong revenue results and efficient processes
* Managing budgets, reporting, forecasting, and identifying opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.
* Overseeing inventory, stock control, pricing accuracy, and retail administration.
* Recruiting, training, coaching, and developing a high‑performing team.
* Conducting performance reviews, managing staff issues, and fostering a positive, inclusive culture.
* Building strong relationships with suppliers, guests, and internal stakeholders.
* Leading safety practices, reporting hazards, and promoting a strong safety culture.
* Upholding and role‑modelling Vail Resorts' values and leadership expectations.
What You'll Bring
* Minimum 5 years' experience in equipment hire or retail management (required).
* Experience with POS and inventory systems (RTP or similar).
* Multi‑site retail or rental leadership experience, ideally in snowsports or tourism.
* Strong computer skills (MS Office).
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service abilities.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise, and perform under pressure.
* A collaborative leadership style with a focus on team development.
