Anglo American Steelmaking Coal

Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in steel manufacture, producing steel used for a modern world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia.

Job Description

Reporting to the Surface Infrastructure Superintendent you will lead the work of the Diesel Workshop and Surface Infrastructure Mechanical maintenance to optimise the equipment life of the assets.

Providing best practice engineering and maintenance services, you will be responsible for both programmed and on-demand independent engineering and maintenance audit services on the extent of compliance for Moranbah North Mine with AAMC systems, legislative requirements and operations within the AAMC engineering and maintenance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

* Identify improvement opportunities across underground diesel equipment, workshops, and surface infrastructure
* Work with the Mechanical Engineering Manager to maintain statutory compliance for the diesel fleet
* Manage and control costs for diesel and surface infrastructure assets
* Develop and implement fit‐for‐purpose standards, systems, and strategies for diesel equipment management
* Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the annual asset management plan
* Analyse equipment performance data to identify risks and improvement opportunities
* Establish service level agreements with clear performance measuresPlan and schedule people and resources to ensure high‐quality service delivery
* Oversee installation, maintenance, and commissioning of diesel equipment and surface infrastructure
* Ensure full compliance with the Site Safety and Health Management System
* Maintain strong understanding of Moranbah North Mine's Safety and Health objectives
* Mentor trades personnel and apprentices; act as a key contact for the mechanical apprentice program

Qualifications

* You will be Mechanical trade qualified with previous coordinator or supervisory experience in a similar role.
* Experience in UG diesels Drift runners, MWM Predators AME graders, FBL15's, ED7, ED10, Bobcat's, ED40's, MH60 and LS312 will be highly regarded
* You will have current competencies or similar to Explosion Protected Diesel Engine Systems
* You will have current competencies or similar to Brake Testing AURLTB002, AURKTB002, AURHTB005
* Tertiary qualifications in Maintenance Management would be an advantage but not essential. Experience with Fewzion, SAP and Microsoft Office as well as exposure to equipment used in underground Longwall mining will be highly regarded.
* The successful applicant will be driven by equipment availability and the ability to focus on maintenance costs, workplace efficiency and will be committed to Zero Harm through the development of a pro‐active safety culture.
