About the Role:

The Department for Education has committed to delivering a series of reforms under two related work programs - 'one in four' reforms focused on improving outcomes for children/students with functional needs, and 'student engagement' reforms focused on greater inclusion of students in their learning and reducing exclusionary responses.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate and proactively plan neuro-affirming ways to support students in secondary schools.
">
2. Collaborate with leaders and teachers to develop evidence-based inclusive practices for supporting autistic students.
">
3. Offer practical advice and in-class support to help teachers implement these practices effectively.

Requirements:
">

* Relevant tertiary qualifications and skills and experience in supporting autistic students in a secondary school setting.
">
* Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, carers, school leadership, education staff, and external stakeholders as required.
">

Benefits:

* S121-2 salary scale ($126,216 per annum) plus superannuation.

* Initial 12-month term contract with opportunities for extension or renewal.
