About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing daily kitchen and bakery production while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily food preparation and production in both kitchen and bakery
Prepare, cook and present breakfast, café menu items and bakery products including breads, pastries and cakes
Plan and coordinate bakery production schedules to meet demand
Supervise, roster and train kitchen and bakery staff
Manage stock control, ordering and inventory management
Maintain HACCP food safety standards and workplace health and safety compliance
Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation
Contribute to menu planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
Minimum 2–3 years' full-time experience as a Chef
Proven experience in commercial kitchen operations
Experience in bakery production including breads and pastries
Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
Demonstrated leadership and team supervision skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
Experience in café-style menu development
Experience managing kitchen staff rosters and performance
