**Job Title:**
Strategic Safeguarding Lead
The role of the Strategic Safeguarding Lead is to develop and implement a comprehensive child safeguarding framework, ensuring the organisation's strategic direction relating to safeguarding children.
**Responsibilities:**
* Develop and maintain a child safeguarding framework that aligns with relevant legislation and regulations.
* Manage communication strategies to promote safeguarding practices and engage with internal stakeholders to ensure commitment to safeguarding children from abuse, neglect, and/or harm.
* Build relationships with government agencies to improve collaboration and information sharing.
* Directly manage high-profile or high-risk child protection incidents and oversee other incidents related to allegations or suspicions of child abuse, neglect, and/or harm.
* Continuously improve the child safe action plan by analysing causes and systemic failures of complaints, concerns, and child safeguarding incidents.
* Ensure timely reporting of child protection incidents to external regulatory agencies.
* Regularly review, evaluate, and improve child-safe practices.
**Requirements:**
* Relevant degree qualification in social work, psychology, welfare, or equivalent.
* Extensive knowledge of Child Protection legislation, regulations, and best practices.
* Knowledge of the Child Safe Organisation principles and child protection system in NSW (ACT desirable).
* Solid experience in case managing and providing advice on child protecting and safeguarding matters.
* Experience in completing reportable conduct relational investigations or similar investigatory experience.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify concerns for children's safety and wellbeing.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with proficiency in coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communicating, problem-solving, and negotiation.
* Cleared Valid paid work, working with Children's Check (WWCC).
