Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) has exciting opportunities for experienced Electrical / Instrumentation Tradespeople to join our Maintenance teams. About the Role
As a valued member of the QAL Maintenance team, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable, and Sustainablevision by:
* Performing all work in accordance with site health, safety, environmental, and community policies, systems, and procedures
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment, including high-voltage systems
* Diagnosing equipment faults and recommending effective, long-term repair solutions
* Developing and troubleshooting PLC motor control systems supporting wharf machines and conveyor operations
* Completing installation and maintenance activities within Hazardous Areas and Gas Systems
* Improving plant reliability by identifying and eliminating equipment failures
* Actively contributing to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives across site
About You – What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will ideally demonstrate:
* A strong commitment to working safely, both independently and as part of a team
* A current Queensland Electrical Licence
* Certificate III in Instrumentation (highly regarded)
* Proven experience in fixed-plant maintenance environments
* A proactive approach to safety systems and participation in site safety programs
* Sound decision-making skills to ensure plant integrity and reliability
* The ability to plan, organise, and complete tasks efficiently
* Strong teamwork skills, with the capability to manage your workload autonomously
* A commitment to continuous improvement, including identifying process efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
