ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Cadet Engineer – Water and Sewer supports the Utilities Engineering and Strategy and Compliance Teams in providing services across capital works, operational support, asset management, development engineering, and strategic planning.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting in planning, investigation, and management of capital projects
* Assisting in assessments for new developments
* Supporting the development and management of budgets
* Analyzing infrastructure data using Council’s Asset Management System
* Developing and maintaining water and sewer models for planning
This is a temporary position (up to 2 years), working up to 35 hours per week. Candidates must be enrolled in a Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree, in their second last or final year. The cadetship allows studying while gaining on-the-job experience, with flexible arrangements.
The remuneration is aligned with the Local Government (State) Award, ranging from $1142.50 to $1194.60 per week plus superannuation. From July 2025, an above-award salary increase and 12% superannuation will be applied.
