The Role
The Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) Branch manages claims from individuals under the Fair Entitlements Guarantee Act 2012 (FEG Act). Reporting to either the Director of FEG Claim Assessment or Director of FEG Contact and Initial Assessment, the Assistant Director is responsible for leading a team in one of the FEG claim assessment sections. The Assistant Director will manage the day-to-day operations of a team including workflow, reporting, and staffing. They will be an escalation point for complex matters within the team. They will also be expected to lead projects relating to their area and assist the Director on a range of strategic issues.
Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director may include:
* Manage, mentor and develop staff; and build and uphold a shared commitment to team goals
* Provide advice and support on complex assessment issues which may relate to the FEG Act, the Fair Work Act 2009, awards, agreements, or other elements of the workplace relations system.
* Develop and maintain an understanding of long term strategic and operational goals underpinning the delivery of the FEG scheme.
* Implement, lead and manage projects to ensure continuous improvement of service delivery.
* Lead with a collaborative and cohesive working style; and foster a respectful and positive workplace culture.
* Maintain a proactive solution focus with regards to identified risk and challenges; liaising as needed with other sections of FEG Branch
* Monitor team performance; engaging quickly, appropriately and constructively with potential underperformance.
