The Role - Full-time | Melbourne or Sydney

Are you an experienced retail sales leader ready to make a national impact? We're looking for a National Sales Manager – Retail to drive growth, lead a high-performing team, and strengthen partnerships with some of Australia's largest retail accounts.

At the Heart of the Role

Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing the retail channel strategy to maximise sales, profitability and long‐term growth. You'll lead and inspire a team of Retail Account Managers while working closely with the Product Manager, Marketing team and other key stakeholders across the business.

Operating in a mature Australian market, the role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to think beyond traditional approaches. Success in this environment depends on working closely with our channel partners—building trusted relationships, aligning priorities, and balancing BIA's objectives with those of our partners.

We encourage out‐of‐the‐box thinking to identify new revenue streams and growth opportunities, while also navigating the longer timeframes and global alignment required when working with our Product teams.

This is a senior, hands‐on leadership role which requires regular interstate travel and with accountability for national retail performance, strategic planning, forecasting and key account management.

Key responsibilities

* Lead the development and execution of national retail sales strategies aligned with business objectives and budgets
* Own and deliver sales budgets, forecasts and growth targets, with regular performance reporting and insights
* Directly responsible for the management and growth of major national retail channels
* Build and evolve a high‐performance retail team, lifting capability, accountability, and commercial acumen
* Work cross‐functionally with Product and Marketing teams to optimise range, launches, promotions and campaigns
* Monitor competitor activity and market trends, providing clear recommendations to maximise business results
* Drive strong customer relationships and maintain key industry networks
* Support product launches, training initiatives and broader business projects as required

About you

You're a commercially minded sales leader with strong retail experience and a collaborative leadership style. Comfortable working autonomously, you influence diverse stakeholders with confidence and drive results through others. You bring strong judgement and pragmatism to complex environments, are comfortable balancing competing priorities, and know how to turn strategy into execution through people and partners.

This role will suit someone who enjoys leading through influence, values strong relationships, and is motivated by delivering sustainable commercial outcomes.

You will bring:

* 5–10 years' experience in a senior retail sales or national account leadership role
* Proven experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams
* Strong capability in sales strategy development, execution and forecasting
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* A professional, ethical and results‐driven approach
* Strong planning, organisation and decision‐making skills
* Business‐related tertiary qualifications (highly desirable)
* National leadership role with real strategic influence
