About the role
This part-time coral aquaculture attendant role with Live corals Australia offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the vibrant coral farming industry in Bundaberg, Queensland. As a coral aquaculture attendant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations and maintenance of our state-of-the-art coral propagation facility, contributing to the sustainable production of high-quality corals for the aquarium trade.
What you'll be doing
1. Performing regular monitoring and maintenance of coral tanks and aquarium systems
2. Assisting with coral fragmentation, propagation and transplanting procedures
3. Maintaining detailed records of coral growth, health and production data
4. Identifying and addressing any issues or challenges that may arise in the coral aquaculture process
5. Participating in the packing and shipping of live corals to customers
6. Adhering to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
What we're looking for
1. Previous experience in aquarium maintenance, coral husbandry or a related field will be highly regarded but not necessary.
2. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed protocols and procedures
3. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the willingness to learn new techniques
4. Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks in a marine environment
5. Enthusiasm for the coral aquaculture industry and a commitment to sustainable practices
6. Current Queensland drivers license and own transport.
