Overview

Working with Northern NSW Local Health District, you can play a part in delivering quality care to our region. Our health service values the essential role our staff play in delivering innovative ways to respond to the health needs of our patients and clients. Employment Type: Permanent Part or Full Time - Multiple Positions/Locations. Position Classification: Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer. We welcome applications from Trainees who will attain Fellowship within the Clinical Year.

What You'll Be Doing

Providing contemporary comprehensive Specialist Psychiatry services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care. Positions include the specialties of Adult Inpatient, Adult Community, Child and Adolescent, Older Persons, Addiction Psychiatry, and Consultation Liaison. Providing clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

* Provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines
Qualifications and Requirements
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Psychiatry at the role delineation of the service
* Accredited ECT provider or willingness to work towards same for all adult related specialties
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership
* Demonstrated effective clinical communication through IT and written/verbal/interpersonal skills
* Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
* Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site in a timely manner
* Valid unrestricted NSW driver's licence and willingness to travel for some roles
Remuneration and Benefits
* Staff Specialist: $270,247 to $365,114 per annum full-time equivalent depending on experience. Additional temporary allowances where applicable
* VMO Remuneration: As per NSW Health VMO rates
* Senior Specialist remuneration may be considered subject to CE approval

Where you'll be working

The Northern NSW Local Health District extends from Tweed Heads in the north to Tabulam and Urbenville in the west, and to Nymboida and Grafton in the south. Hospitals include Ballina, Byron, Casino, Grafton, Lismore, Maclean, Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads; MPS facilities at Bonalbo, Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville.
