What You'll Be Doing
Provide contemporary comprehensive Physician services and Medical Governance for optimal patient outcomes for the newly established Hospital in the Home (HiTH) Model of Care. The role will establish and maintain a district wide multidisciplinary approach to care and work in partnership with Nurse Practitioners and multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic integrated care in line with HITH PD2025_004.
You will be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District to provide the delivery of acute and sub-acute treatments by health care professionals in the patient's home, residential aged care facility, community setting or the Hospital in the Home (HiTH) unit. The position is a district wide position servicing HITH patients across SNSWLHD. Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.
Essential Criteria
* Current Registration as a Medical Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Selection Criteria
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as Emergency or Specialist General Physician and the ability to accept care of a variety of clinical conditions.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and provide clinical leadership of a multidisciplinary team including Nurse Practitioners.
* Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability and willingness to partner in collaborative care models with relevant specialists.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
* Demonstrated understanding and commitment to all aspects of clinical governance.
* Demonstrated ability to consistently display a commitment to, and compliance with, leadership in high quality Customer Service, Workplace Diversity, Occupational Health & Safety and Industrial Democracy principles, practices and relevant legislation relating to these areas and an understanding of and commitment to the organisation\'s values.
* Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination
This is a Category 'A' position. Read NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements include proof of vaccination against influenza and are compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
