Job Description:
The role of Medical Receptionist/Patient Services Officer is to provide warm, professional, and efficient administrative support across our busy Bundaberg clinics. You will be the first point of contact for many of our patients, helping ensure their experience is smooth, respectful, and informed.
* Manage appointment bookings, rescheduling, and patient communications
* Liaise with hospital staff, doctors, and clinical teams
* Check patient GP referrals and Medicare data for accuracy
* Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally
* Process billing and receipting for patient accounts, including Medicare and DVA
* Support the team with efficient use of our Health Track system
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide exceptional customer service and communication skills
* Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals
* Use technology efficiently to manage patient information and communicate with stakeholders
* Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements:
* Experience in administration or customer service, ideally in healthcare or aged care
* Strong time management and prioritisation skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to support patients sensitively
* Confidence in billing/receipting medical accounts (Medicare and DVA experience preferred)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
