Job Title: Payroll Officer
Opportunity Overview
Newcastle Anglican seeks an experienced payroll professional to join our team. As a key member of the People and Culture team, you will be responsible for providing quality payroll services and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide information and assistance to staff via all forms of correspondence
* Undertake administrative duties including scanning, emailing, photocopying, typing, document production, data entry, record keeping, and filing
* Achieve accurate maintenance of personnel records
* Prepare and report on payroll accurately
* Assist in the preparation and processing of fortnightly pay runs, checking timesheets within required deadlines
* Prepare, process, and report on workers compensation claims, reviewing and reconciling reimbursement schedules
* Process employee terminations, issuing certificates of service as needed
About You
* Degree in payroll or 2 years experience in a similar role
* High proficiency in payroll data entry, with experience working in high transaction volume environments
* Proven competence with payroll systems and processes
* Knowledge and application of confidentiality principles
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
* Experience with multiple awards and enterprise agreements
* Familiarity with Preceda payroll software or equivalent
* Familiarity with Emplive or equivalent time and attendance systems
