About the Role
We are seeking a HR Advisor / Junior HR Business Partner who plays a hands-on role in supporting frontline leaders and head office stakeholders across employee relations, WHS coordination, and recruitment delivery.
This role partners closely with Operations to provide practical, compliant, and commercially grounded HR advice, supporting a fast-paced retail environment with a strong focus on risk management, consistency, and people capability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Relations (Primary Focus)
o Provide first-line HR advice to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, misconduct, absenteeism, grievances, and investigations.
o Support end-to-end ER case management, including drafting correspondence (letters of concern, warnings, show cause, outcomes) in line with Fair Work requirements.
o Assist in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and documentation, ensuring procedural fairness and risk awareness.
o Support probation management, role changes, internal transfers, and termination processes.
o Maintain accurate ER records and case files to support compliance and audit readiness.
2. WHS & Workers Compensation Support
o Coordinate WHS processes in partnership with external WHS providers and internal stakeholders.
o Support incident reporting, injury registers, and workers compensation claims administration.
o Assist managers with return-to-work coordination and documentation.
o Promote WHS awareness and compliance across stores and support office, ensuring policies and procedures are followed consistently.
o Monitor WHS documentation, training completion, and corrective actions.
3. Recruitment & Workforce Support
o Deliver end-to-end recruitment for retail leadership and selected head office roles, from briefing through to selection.
o Partner with hiring managers on role scoping, interview coordination, and selection decisions.
o Support workforce movements such as promotions, transfers, and restructures.
4. HR Operations & General Support
o Act as a trusted HR contact for operational leaders, providing timely and consistent advice.
o Support the implementation and interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and frameworks.
o Work closely with Payroll and HR Administration to ensure accurate employee data and ER outcomes.
o Contribute to continuous improvement of ER tools, templates, and manager guidance materials.
o Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum 4 years' experience in HR, preferably within a retail or multi-site environment.
* Demonstrated experience handling employee relations cases including performance management and disciplinary processes.
* Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Fair Work processes.
* Practical experience with WHS and workers compensation coordination.
* Proven recruitment delivery experience for operational and leadership roles.
* Confident communicator with the ability to advise and influence frontline leaders.
* High attention to detail and sound judgment when managing sensitive matters.
* Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Law, or a related discipline is preferred.
