Casual Reception & Retail Supervisor
Cockington Green Gardens – Canberra
Cockington Green Gardens is a long-standing and much-loved Canberra attraction, known for its beautifully maintained display gardens and welcoming visitor experience.
We are seeking a reliable, organised and customer-focused individual to join our front-of-house team in a varied and responsible role. This position is well-suited to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys interacting with people, and values being part of a supportive, family-run business.
About the Role
* Casual position: 2–3 days per week (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
* Includes up to two weekends per month
* Additional hours available during peak periods
* Consistent availability during school holidays and public holidays is essential
This is a key front-facing role requiring a high level of trust, initiative, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and closing of the admissions area and retail shop
* Welcoming visitors and providing a high standard of customer service
* Processing ticket sales and coordinating group bookings
* Managing phone and email enquiries in a professional manner
* Maintaining booking systems, spreadsheets, and records
* Performing daily cash handling and reconciliation
* Supporting café and retail operations as needed
* Ensuring work areas are clean, organised, and well-presented
About You
You are someone who is:
* Dependable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility
* Comfortable working independently and using sound judgement
* Confident communicating with a wide range of customers
* Well organised, with good attention to detail
* Practical and willing to assist wherever needed
* Looking for a stable, ongoing casual role in a friendly environment
Previous experience in customer service, administration, retail, or similar roles will be highly regarded.
Requirements
* Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Ability to work weekends, school holidays, and peak visitor periods
