Regenerate Talent is working with a global sustainability advisory leader, with extensive expertise in climate risk mitigation and the Australian energy transition. They are working with Australia's largest businesses to achieve net zero, build climate resilience, and support the clean energy transition.
The role:
As an Electricity Market Modeller, you will join their Energy Markets modelling team to develop electricity spot projections based on plausible supply-demand scenarios and mimic the bidding behaviour observed across various market participants. Your extensive experience with the Plexos market simulation software and Python coding skills will be crucial.
You will support renewable energy developers by leveraging quantitative risk analytics to assess a range of hedging strategies, develop shaped renewable energy products, and optimize renewable energy and storage investments. Your expertise will help drive informed decision-making and strategic planning in the evolving energy market landscape.
You will also develop and implement approaches to the management of energy market risks for large commercial and industrial customers, and work closely on the design and modelling of energy contracts and hedging structures, and interact with clients to implement long-term risk management strategies tailored to their specific risk appetite and operational capabilities.
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' experience in electricity market modelling.
* Demonstrated quantitative skillset, working with or managing advanced risk analytics.
* Proven advanced experience with Plexos as well as MS Excel and Python programming skills, in building energy models.
