About the Role
The
Senior Data Analyst
plays a key role in shaping public sector workforce planning by turning complex data into meaningful insights that inform programs, policies and strategic decision-making. In this role, you'll lead the collection, analysis and interpretation of workforce data, applying robust research methodologies and statistical techniques to support evidence-based outcomes. You will provide expert advice to government agencies, helping to build capability and ensure decisions are informed by accurate and timely workforce information. The position also contributes to high-quality papers, briefs, and advice for senior executives and Ministers. Success in the role requires someone who can quickly absorb information, adapt to changing priorities and confidently manage stakeholder consultation across the sector. This is an opportunity to influence workforce strategy at a sector wide level in a dynamic and evolving environment.

We're Looking For
* Data Analytics Expertise:
You bring strength in statistical analysis, survey methods, data visualisation and data storytelling to generate meaningful workforce insights.
* Strategic Thinking:
You are confident translating complex datasets into clear, compelling insights that guide policy, program design and executive decision-making.
* Communication:
You can prepare concise briefs, papers and reports that effectively communicate findings to senior stakeholders, including executives and Ministers.
* Project Delivery:
You thrive in a dynamic environment, confidently managing competing priorities, and delivering high-quality analysis on time.
* Technical Skills:
You're proficient with SQL, Python, Power BI, DAX queries and data management systems, and comfortable working with large, complex datasets.
* MS Fabric experience would be beneficial.
* Leadership:
You enjoy mentoring junior analysts and collaborating across teams and agencies to build capability and drive shared outcomes.
