About our region
You have the opportunity to visit West Arnhem Regional Council's spectacular outback remote islands, unique indigenous communities and visit our HQ in the middle of the National Park. It covers an area of almost 50,000 km2 of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
More than two-thirds of the region's population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, who reside in a collection of towns, communities, and outstations. Council provides a range of local government services to five towns and communities across five wards with many popular tourist destinations.
About the role
Based in Jabiru or Darwin, this position provides high-level administrative support to the Mayor and CEO. Your role will include managing confidential information, diaries and schedules, organising meetings and travel, and preparing agendas and meeting minutes. You will also support elected members and the Executive Team, handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

About you
* Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail, able to manage busy diaries, deadlines, and competing priorities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with staff at all levels, councillors, and community members.
* Strong ability to handle confidential information with care, discretion, and good judgment.
* High-level Microsoft Office and IT skills, with experience preparing reports and other documents, and the capacity to quickly learn new systems.
* Strong understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture and remote community life, and the ability to work respectfully in this context
* Current driver's licence.

* Remuneration Package $97,438 - $103,824 (including base salary $85,458 - $91,058)
