Responsibilities
The Position
Reporting to our Vice President, Division General Counsel, and Division Compliance Officer based in the USA, and part of the global corporate services team, we are seeking to recruit an In-house Legal Counsel/Legal Secretary for the Hexagon Mining APAC region.
You will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for providing insightful, focused, and risk-based legal guidance aligned with business and strategic objectives. Additionally, you will maintain company registers, draft resolutions, and prepare board minutes.
You will develop, draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of complex commercial contractual agreements and government procurement transactions, collaborating with key stakeholders to provide pragmatic, business-oriented solutions that manage legal risks and support business growth.
As part of a global legal and compliance team, you will work cross-functionally with commercial, finance, and HR leaders on initiatives that align regional practices with global corporate governance standards.
Qualifications

We seek an experienced In-house Counsel/Legal Counsel ready to advance their career by leveraging their expertise in commercial and business law as an integral part of our leadership team. We value passion, knowledge, and a proactive approach to legal support in a growing business environment.
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:
* A Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor from an accredited university and a license to practice law in your jurisdiction.
* Experience in corporate commercial law, preferably within mining, technology, or IT software/services sectors.
* Strong business acumen with the ability to understand commercial demands alongside legal considerations.
* Experience with sales lifecycle environments and various contractual models is desirable but not essential.
* Experience working in a global business context, particularly within the APAC region, is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to foster a collaborative culture among internal and external stakeholders.
* Leadership qualities to influence and lead change positively.
* Valid Australian Working Rights – Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen.
