Automotive Educator Position
The Northern Trade Training Centre provides secondary school students with the opportunity to enroll and complete vocational training in automotive trade.
This facility is a valuable resource for young people in the northern community who are interested in pursuing trade pathways.
The centre is governed by a board of principals from local schools and is supported by ties to business, industry, and other educational institutions.
The primary focus of this role is on teaching and learning principles relevant to VET Automotive. The educator will engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills and effectively engage students.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
2. Monitor and assess student learning data to inform teaching approaches.
3. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
4. Provide a safe and compliant environment in an educational setting.
5. Meet qualification requirements to deliver VET Automotive.
6. Hold current registration or meet permission to teach requirements.
Role Description
Classroom educators play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes. They contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities.
A key component of this work is increasing staff knowledge about student learning and high-quality instruction. Educators will be expected to:
* Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers.
* Provide expert advice on content, processes, and strategies that shape individual and school professional learning.
* Supervise and train one or more student teachers.
* Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches.
Role Requirements
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships. They will also have the capacity to model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers.
They will be accountable for the effective delivery of their programs and will operate under general direction within clear guidelines following established procedures.
