Our client's busy Ophthalmology clinic prides themselves on a modern, purpose built and well-equipped full computerised practice with a relaxed, friendly and patient centric approach. Providing comprehensive eye care service for the Sunshine Coast and boasting a state-of-the-art facility with full diagnostic capability to manage common eye conditions such as cataract, glaucoma and macular degeneration as well as less common problems.
Our client is currently seeking aPart Time Enrolled or Registered Nurse, to join the team working 3 days a week. Make your mark on this role with your willingness to learn and your passion to help save eyesight You will be given the opportunity to assist in procedures including laser and play a pivotal role in planning and delivering nursing care to patients. You will also work with the clinical team in the performance of scans and other ophthalmic tests. Full training will be provided.
You will be surrounded by a small team that takes pride in their performance, valuing honesty, hard work, ethics and integrity, teamwork with patient safety and excellent outcomes always at its heart.
The role will see you:
* Prepare and care for patients receiving Intra-ocular injections and other procedures
* Assist the Ophthalmologist in procedures such as intra-ocular injections, lasers and eyelid surgeries
* Provide education to patients and their carers
* Perform ophthalmic testing as required
* Work closely with the team to deliver excellent patient-focused care pre and post-treatment

What you will need:
* Registered or Enrolled Nurse (current registration with AHPRA)
* Day Surgery or Theatre experience would be an advantage
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to be flexible with shifts and working hours
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
* Excellent computer literacy and experience with electronic patient record systems would be an advantage
* Attention to detail
* Desire to learn new tasks
* Experience in Ophthalmology would be an advantage
