**Salary**: $112,917 - $141,084 (Plus 11.5% Super)

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. It provides acute, sub-acute, primary and community-based health services, to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding regions. More information can be found on the CHS website.**To be eligible for this position you must be PGY 4 + by February 2025**

North Canberra Hospital - Bruce is a 256 bed public hospital providing acute and sub-acute services, with our Emergency Department receiving around 55 thousand presentations per year.The Canberra Hospital is a 600+ bed tertiary trauma and referral hospital providing services to the ACT and south eastern New South Wales region of Australia. It is the principal teaching hospital of the Australian National University (ANU) Graduate Medical Program.-
- Within the Department of General Surgery, as a non-accredited registrar, you will be working alongside accredited registrars, Fellows, and consultants with the aim to deliver a 24/7 comprehensive service to the community. Tasks will include ASU and trauma surgical services as well as after hours and elective rotations.
- Rotations may include:
- Rural Surgery, Moruya Base Hospital
- Emergency Medicine, Canberra Hospital Woden, North Canberra Hospital - Bruce
- Intensive Care Medicine, Canberra Hospital Woden, North Canberra Hospital - Bruce

**DUTIES**:

- Provide competent and efficient clinical management of patients of Canberra Health Services under the supervision and direction of a Consultant Medical Practitioner(s). The clinical management includes acute admissions, in-patient care, outpatient clinics, inter -disciplinary consults and clinical handover;
- Work within and support the multidisciplinary clinical team;
- Demonstrate progress in training in the specialty including participation in the relevant teaching program and activities, timely completion of assessments and involvement in research;
- Currency in an Advanced Life Support Course to be attained within three months of commencement with annual refreshers;
- Participate in the after-hours and on-call roster;
- Contribute to clinical audit and participate in changes that improve quality and safety of patient care;
- Maintain adequate and legible medical record and ensure that the clinical team completes discharge summaries in a timely manner;
- 8. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.**ABOUT YOU**:

**Mandatory**:

- Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
- Must hold a current driver's license; and- Be registered under the Working for Vulnerable People Act.- Demonstrate commitment to training and continuing professional development including participation in relevant teaching programs, activities, and feedback opportunities, involvement in research, and teaching of junior medical staff and/or medical students

CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies..
