About the role:
Our Safety Advisor is responsible for driving safety performance and fostering a strong, proactive safety culture across the Kalamia Mill. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role provides hands-on safety leadership, advice and support to employees, contractors and visitors, while implementing group safety initiatives, coordinating training and inductions, monitoring compliance and supporting injury management and rehabilitation. The position also plays a key role in continuously improving safety systems and collaborating across all departments to ensure a safe, compliant and high-performing workplace.
Your responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
* Promote and uphold Wilmar's commitment to safety through daily engagement, audits, and toolbox participation.
* Coordinate and deliver site safety programs, inductions, and health initiatives.
* Provide guidance and clarification on safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
* Lead and participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, and risk management activities.
* Support rehabilitation and return-to-work processes in line with organisational requirements.
* Collaborate with site leaders and the Group Safety team to implement and monitor safety improvement initiatives.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety and experience in a Safety or Health advisory role within a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
* Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and incident investigation processes and auditing
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and coach others
* Construction Safety Induction, Cert IV in Training & Assessing and Rehabilitation & Return to work certificate (highly regarded)
* Commitment to continuous improvement and promoting best practice safety initiatives across site operations
