About Newcastle Master Builders Apprentices
Newcastle MBA offers a pathway for individuals interested in obtaining full-time employment in a high demand trade while gaining a nationally recognised qualification. Newcastle MBA will be your Employer for the duration of your Apprenticeship to handle all administration and provide support and guidance while you gain on-the-job skills with a valued Host Employer.
- Receive accurate and timely payments – MBA processes your pay, superannuation, etc.
- Job Security – If your Host Employer runs low in work, MBA will attempt to find another Host Employer for you to continue and complete your Apprenticeship.
- Learn from and be mentored by industry experts.
- Don’t pay, get paid – TAFE Fees are covered and TAFE textbook costs are reimbursed.
- Receive personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout your Apprenticeship (Steel-Cap Boots, Hard Hat, Gloves, Hat, Vest, etc).
- Toolbox and basic toolkit provided on your induction day.
- Receive dedicated support from our Field Officers throughout your Apprenticeship.
About The Host Employer/Role
Our Host Employer is a local Glass & Aluminium company offering effective glass and aluminium fabrication solutions for residential and commercial markets. They specialise in commercial works, show screens, splashbacks, mirrors, balustrades, and more. They are seeking a hardworking Apprentice with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic to join their team. This position is based in Newcastle and the Hunter areas.
You will develop skills in glass and glazing, including fabrication and installation of aluminium window and door frames, internal and external glazing, measurements, problem solving, teamwork, and communication. You will learn to work collaboratively to ensure project efficiency.
Desired Qualities
- A strong desire to learn and grow in Glass & Glazing.
- Commitment to completing a 4-year Apprenticeship (TAFE studies and onsite skills).
- Enjoy practical, hands-on tasks.
- Honest, hardworking, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions.
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- White card or willingness to obtain prior to starting.
