Offer description

Join to apply for the Product Manager role at Broadsheet Media

Over the past year, Broadsheet has modernised its core technology - upgrading infrastructure, reducing technical debt, and rebuilding the systems that power our content, audience data and commercial products. With this foundation in place, we're now focused on building smarter, more adaptive products in a rapidly changing media landscape.

Role

The ideal person for this role will be someone creatively attuned, technically literate with a strong commercial lens who is comfortable working at the intersection of technology, audience, content and strategy. This is a hands‑on role for a product leader who enjoys ownership and collaboration. It will suit someone motivated by shaping product direction, driving delivery, and evolving how best‑practice product thinking is applied in practical terms. You will partner closely with engineering, data, editorial, audience and commercial teams, balancing strategic thinking with day‑to‑day execution and bringing clarity, structure and tried‑and‑tested systems where processes are still maturing.

Responsibilities

* Own product problems end‑to‑end, from discovery through to delivery and iteration, partnering closely with engineering to ensure shared clarity on what we're solving and why
* Translate business strategy into clear product goals, supported by meaningful success metrics and prioritisation frameworks
* Explore problems, develop hypotheses and shape solutions, getting ideas in front of audiences quickly so we can learn (deriving insight through both qual and quant) to quickly iterate
* Maintain and actively manage the product backlog to maximise impact, closing the loop between delivery, outcomes and the metrics that matter
* Balance user needs, editorial ambition and commercial outcomes in day‑to‑day product decision‑making

Delivery & Execution (secondary)

* Plan and coordinate delivery across initiatives in a lean, fast‑moving environment
* Define clear scope, milestones and dependencies, adapting plans as conditions change
* Identify risks early and manage trade‑offs with confidence and transparency
* Keep stakeholders aligned through clear, timely, transparent and systematic communication
* Ensure launches are well‑executed, with learnings feeding directly back into future product decisions

Minimum Qualifications

* 4+ years' experience in product management, with a strong understanding of media and digital publishing environments, with a strong audience focus
* Strong collaboration skills across engineering, editorial and commercial teams
* Sufficient technical and data fluency to work credibly with engineers, including discussing systems, trade‑offs and feasibility (experience with an engineering or a technical role is a plus)
* Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the ability to introduce structure and momentum where none yet exists
* Experience working with common product and delivery tools (e.g. Asana, Jira, Confluence, Google Analytics etc)

How To Apply

Submit your current resume and a cover letter in a single PDF. You must have the right to live and work in Australia.
