Overview
The Manager, Food Security is an exciting position leading the newly-established Food Security team, reporting to the Director, Community Inclusion, Carers and Volunteers in the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. The role will lead a high-performing, motivated team to design, deliver and evaluate evidence-informed policy, strategy and programs to address food insecurity in Victoria and provide food relief to people in need. Core to being successful in this role will be your experience leading the design and implementation of complex food security, financial hardship or material aid strategy and programs, and expertise in large-scale grants program design and management. Your demonstrated stakeholder relationship, people management and leadership skills will contribute to a supportive, collaborative, inclusive and empowering team and Unit culture, and help improve outcomes for Victorian communities.
Accountabilities
* Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative options to address complex and systemic food security, food relief and related issues, based on comprehensive data, evidence, and stakeholder consultation.
* Undertake data analysis and modelling and lead the development of strategic reform, budget strategy and social investment options and recommendations to enhance food security in Victoria.
* Develop, manage and evaluate complex food security and food relief policy and program initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters, including effective and proactive identification and management of risks.
