Join a well-established regional WA business in a trusted payroll and finance support role
Key position supporting payroll accuracy, invoicing discipline and strong administrative control
Long-term opportunity with a locally owned civil, asphalt and traffic services company
About the role
Catwest Road & Traffic Services is seeking a capable and detail-focused Payroll and Accounts Officer to join our Geraldton team.
This is a full-time role suited to someone who takes pride in accuracy, follows through consistently, and understands the importance of reliable payroll and financial administration in a project-based business.
Working across payroll, invoicing, receivables and general accounts support, you will play an important role in the day-to-day discipline of the business. While we do not process a high volume of invoices, the value and importance of each one means accuracy, timing and supporting documentation must be right. Payroll is now fully computer-based, and this role will help ensure the system remains efficient, well managed and dependable.
You will work closely with management and internal teams to maintain strong records, resolve issues promptly, and support smooth administrative and financial processes across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable and well-organised professional looking for a stable long-term position with a respected regional company.
Key responsibilities
* Process payroll accurately and on time in line with company requirements
* Review timesheets, allowances, leave and supporting payroll documentation
* Prepare and issue invoices with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Monitor receivables and follow up outstanding accounts professionally and consistently
* Maintain accurate records in MYOB and internal business systems
* Respond to payroll, invoicing and account queries from employees, managers and customers
* Assist with reconciliations, reporting and general accounts administration
* Maintain confidentiality across payroll, employee and financial information
* Support ongoing improvement of payroll, invoicing and administrative systems and processes
* Help ensure office-based financial and payroll controls are maintained to a high standard
About you
You are structured, reliable and comfortable working in a role where detail matters. You understand that strong administration is not just about processing tasks, but about creating accuracy, confidence and consistency across the business.
You will bring:
* Previous experience in payroll, accounts receivable, accounts administration or a similar finance support role
* Experience using MYOB or similar accounting and payroll software
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Sound understanding of payroll processes, timesheet review and general accounts procedures
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence following up outstanding accounts in a professional manner
* Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
* A high level of integrity, discretion and professionalism
* The ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a busy environment
The following will be highly regarded:
* Experience in civil construction, transport, contracting or other project-based industries
