About the role
We're looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Saroor Restaurant, our modern Indian restaurant located in the vibrant suburb of South Fremantle, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, developing innovative menus, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
What you'll be doing
1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including staff supervision, scheduling, and training
2. Create and refine menu items, balancing traditional flavours with modern culinary techniques
3. Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, and timely delivery of dishes
4. Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
5. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement overall business strategies
6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and continuously look for ways to improve the dining experience
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef/Curry Chef or in a senior culinary role, preferably in the Indian/Pakistani cuisine
2. Proven ability to lead and manage a team of kitchen staff
3. Strong understanding of food cost control, inventory management, and budgeting
4. Excellent time management and multitasking skills
5. Passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes using high-quality ingredients
6. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing demands
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
